Library 
Welcome:
The library at Bertha Park is open to all pupils and staff. All pupils can borrow a book/s for up to 2 weeks. Following the expiry date, pupils must return or renew their books with Mrs Hadley.
Our Vision:
- To enhance learning and teaching across the curriculum
- To help pupils become confident and independent learners
- To help raise attainment by promoting reading within the curriculum and for enjoyment
- To provide a safe and welcoming space for all pupils and support their health and wellbeing
We hold over 5,500 regularly updated fiction and non-fiction books in our stock including:
- Fiction of different genres and reading levels
- Graphic Novels and Manga
- Easy Reads and Dyslexia-friendly books
- Non-fiction books to use for research and reading for interest and enjoyment
- Reference section
- Magazine selection, including Britannica
- Collection of laminated short stories, poetry and news articles
The library works with pupils in a variety of ways:
- All S1-3 pupils have a scheduled library time through the English Department
- All ISP classes have a weekly library time to relax, choose books and enjoy story time with Mrs Hadley
- 1-1 reading provided for various pupils with Mrs Hadley
- Private study area for Seniors
- Referencing information for Seniors
To help make the library a calm and welcoming place for everyone. We ask that pupils abide by the following rules:
- Read and talk quietly
- Ensure all mobile devices are switched to silent and kept in bags
- No food or drink, except water
- Be respectful of others
- Return books to their proper places
